Side Channel Cassette Blockout Blinds

For a truly dark room. The blind runs inside side channels with a cassette across the top, so light can’t sneak in around the edges like it does with a standard roller blind.

  • Fully blocks out the light
  • Ideal for theatre and media rooms
  • Perfect for nurseries and children’s bedrooms
  • A favourite with shift workers who sleep during the day
  • A neat, built-in look with no gaps

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a blockout blind make my room completely dark?

A standard blockout blind stops light coming through the fabric, but a little light still shows around the edges. For full darkness, choose a side channel cassette blockout blind, which seals the edges.

What’s the difference between blockout, light filtering and sunscreen?

Blockout fabric stops light coming through. Light filtering fabric lets in soft light but you can’t see through it. Sunscreen fabric is see-through, so it cuts glare while keeping your view.

Can people see through sunscreen blinds at night?

Yes. With the lights on inside, sunscreen blinds don’t give privacy at night. That’s why many people choose double blinds, or add a blockout blind or curtain.

What are double roller blinds?

Two blinds fitted on one bracket over the same window, usually a sunscreen and a blockout, so you can use either one or both.

Can roller blinds be motorised?

Yes. We use Somfy and Acmeda motors, rechargeable or hard-wired, with remote, wall switch or app control.

Can I pair a roller blind with curtains?

Yes. A blockout roller blind behind a sheer curtain is our most popular combination. It’s cheaper than double curtains and gives a softer look.

Can I see the fabrics before I decide?

Yes. Visit our Campbelltown showroom, or book a free measure and quote and we’ll bring samples to your home.

Do you have a showroom?

Yes. Our showroom is at 3/11 Blaxland Serviceway, Campbelltown, open Monday to Friday 8.30am–4.30pm and Saturday 9am–1pm. Come in to see the blinds and fabrics in person.
